this = هذا اللي عندك أو جنبه. that = ذاك اللي هناك. لا تحفظ الترجمة وحدها؛ حرّك إيدك: تمسك القلم → This is a pen. تشير للباب هناك → That is the door.
الجمع: these للكتب جنبّك، those للكراسي في آخر الصف.

المبتدئ يقول This book ويسكت. الإنجليزية اليومية: This is my book. أو This book is new. بعد this/that غالبًا تجي is، وبعد these/those تجي are.
السؤال: What's this? What's that? What are these? What are those?
مو بديل عن the دائمًا
the الكتاب = الكتاب المعروف في السياق. this the book غلط. اختار واحد: this book أو the book.
إذا الشيء معروف وما تشير له بإيدك، the يكفي: The teacher is here.
